Is TDP Getting Emptied In Nellore District?

Update: 2019-10-13 08:19 GMT
The TDP citadel in Nellore district, it appears, is developing cracks. Several party leaders who have local influence are now planning to leave the party and join the BJP.  A large number of local leaders are keeping away from the TDP activities these days.

Vakati Narayana Reddy, who contested from Sullurpet on the TDP ticket, has recently joined the BJP.  The TDP top leadership has failed in ironing out the differences between the group supporting former minister Parasa Ratnam and the other backing Vakati Venkata Ratnam. This has weakened the party.  Since then those supporting Vakati have kept away from party programmes. Later, they joined the BJP. The Bommana Group, which has considerable influence on the fisherfolk villages in Tada mandal too is planning to join the BJP.  Similarly, the group that supported former Chengalamma temple trust board chairperson I Harshavardhan Reddy too might join the BJP.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is going to visit Nellore district on a two day tour to review the party position. But, sources say that even his visit might not be able to stem the tide and resignations might follow.
