If all goes well, soon Andhra Pradesh is going to have three capitals. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's proposal has kicked up a political storm in the state. For the TDP, it was a real and unexpected shock. It got divided on regional lines and the North Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders are now differing with the leaders who have interests in Amaravati. Though CM himself is backing those in Amaravati, the leaders from other regions are finding it difficult to oppose YS Jagan.
But, how will Jagan divide the capital? This is the most interesting question and everyone is curious about it. Even those in the two regions that are going to get benefited are also eager to know Jagan's plan of three capitals. Here, we give a low-down on Jagan's plan.
Vizag: This will have the secretariat, Raj Bhavan, CM's office, head offices of various departments, emergency Assembly building and a bench of the High Court.
Amaravati: It will have the assembly building, a bench of the high court and 15 head offices in Vijayawada.
Kurnool: The High Court of AP, all tribunals and the offices of all commissions.
