Jagan's BC card could shock TDP in 2024!!

The ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh is going ahead with a clear strategy for the upcoming 2024 elections. It has decided to give more tickets to the BCs. The aim is two-fold - to wean away the BCs from the TDP and to win the elections. It now turns out that YSRCP boss YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is betting on BC horses to win the next elections.

It is now revealed that he has decided to make BC nominee Beeda Mastanamma the party candidate from Kavali assembly constituency in Nellore district. Mastanamma is a practicing doctor from Tenali with roots in Nellore district. She is the sister of YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Mastan Rao. Sources say that Rao is lobbying hard for his sister.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Mastan Rao's brother and TDP top leader Beeda Ravichandra too has promised to help Mastanamma if she contests from Kavali. He is currently the national secretary of the party and has considerable influence in the party. If he supports Mastanamma, it would be a major blow to the TDP.

But, all this has unnerved sitting MLA from the YSRCP Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy. This in effect means that he would not be given the YSRCP ticket this time. There are reports that there are several groups in the Kavali YSRCP and that not all of them would support him. Also, there are reports that he has lost touch with the constituency.
