Kamal Haasan donated Rs 20 lakh to set up a Tamil chair in the Harvard University. It's a gesture which shows how much he values his mother tongue. He also appealed Tamilians to do their bit for the language they speak. Tamil Chair at Harvard University enables research in Tamil & its literary works.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Government sanctioned Rs 10 crore for establishing Tamil Chair in Harvard University. Even Vishal who is currently the President of Tamil Film Producers Council has donated funds for the good cause.
Why don't Tollywood Folks show the same kind of worship to their mother tongue? When will those who earn crores through the Telugu Language come forward to pay back? Are there Telugu Actors who could react like Kamal Haasan to protect the Mother Tongue?
Let's just hope at least one or two personalities of Telugu Film Industry would take inspiration from Kollywood in this matter.
