KCR's Dream: Linking Himalayas With Godavari!

Update: 2018-02-20 09:03 GMT
The dreams of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao will be beyond anyone's expectations. He doesn't bother about controversies and criticism while setting any new targets. Some of his ideas would raise the doubt whether or not such missions which appear impossible can be achieved.

As part of the inter-linking of rivers, TRS Government brought the new proposal to link Manas-Sankosh-Testha-Ganga-Suvarna Rekha-Mahanadi. This proposal would be placed during the Southern Water Resources Regional Summit happening in Hyderabad Today.

KCR believes water needs of the future generations could be sufficed if the water bodies between Himalayas and Godavari are inter-linked. Southern Water Grid gonna get strengthened by bringing 938 TMC of water into Godavari. This move is believed to be the permanent solution for the water scarcity in Krishna Basin. It's to be seen how AP, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka respond to the proposal.

Centre convened this meeting to discuss about Maha Cauvery issue. Telangana Government is also gonna demand National Status for Kaleshwaram Project. At the same time, It's gonna fight for its share in Krishna and Godavari rivers. While AP gets 512 TMC of Krishna Waters, Telangana receives 299 TMC. This dispute hasn't been settled since four years.

Union Government proposed the idea of linking Odisha's Mahanadi-AP's Godavari & Krishna-Tamilnadu & Karnataka's Cauvery. TRS Government asked Centre to think about linking Cauvery only after diverting water from Mahanadi to Godavari.
