In a historic feat for Indian mountaineering, 13-year-old Malavath Purna and Sadhanapalli Anand Kumar (16) from telangana have climbed the Everest. Purna became the youngest female climber to scale the Mount Everest.Buoyed with the achievement Telangana CM KCR showered them with the prizes .

Cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each
5 acres land each to the families of both students
Free bore wells and pump sets in the land allotted
Expenditure for inputs for the first year of cultivation
Money to both families for constructing three additional rooms
In a final note he also announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh to their coach Sekhar Babu.

On other side KCR announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those killed in Beas River tragedy in Himachal Pradesh.Many observes felt this as very less amount when compared to the damage that was happened to the families.
