Telangana Chief Minsiter Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to give a free-hand to the leaders at the village-level to pave way for all round development. He is going to launch Rs 25,000 crore Gramajyoti Programme on Independence Day this year and this initiative will last for the next 5 years.
As part of the Gramajyoti Programme, Each and every village in Telangana will receive a fund of anywhere between Rs 2-5 crore based on their population during the period.
A 5-member committee with Ministers T Harish Rao, Etela Rajendar, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Thummala Nageswara Rao has been constituted for Gramajyoti Programme. Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao will submit the action plan and guidelines of Gramajyoti Programme to Chief Minister within a week. Based on the priorities of the Villages, Funds will be released by the Telangana Government over the 5 year period.
