YCP MLA Kona Raghupathi has been unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Speaker Tammineni Sitharam issued the notification for Deputy Speaker's election. By the end of deadline, Nobody else except Kona Raghupathi filed the nomination. 10 YCP MLAs offered their signatures in support of Kona Raghupathi.
Kona Raghupathi got elected as MLA of Bapatla for the second time. He, however, couldn't get the cabinet berth due to caste equations. That is why the loss has been compensated with the Deputy Speaker Post. Speaker will make an official announcement about Kona Raghupathi's election during the Assembly proceedings on Tuesday.
Notably, Kona Raghupathi's Father Kona Prabhakar Rao served as Speaker, 2-time Minister and Governor of Maharashtra & Sikkim. And now, Raghupathi became the Deputy Speaker & it's gonna be an emotional moment for the Kona Family.
