The row over the Land Acquisition Bill has made Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a statement that his government is willing to make amendments any provision in the bill which was considered as anti-farmer.
Modi pointed out that passing Land Acquisition Bill will be benefit states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. He stated that existing Land Acquisition Bill which was created by UPA Government in 2013 is flawed and hindering the development.
The Prime Minister took a dig at UPA by saying no body should have the arrogance that what they had done was perfect and couldn't be bettered. He accused UPA of making the land acquisition law aiming at 2014 General Elections.
Modi's speech is intended to gain enough support from Opposition Parties for NDA to pass the Land Acquisition Bill in Rajya Sabha.
