Indian politics are revolving around Goddess Kaali now. After the controversial Kaali poster from a documentary kickstarted a big storm, the ruling party in West Bengal TMC, and Bharatiya Janata Party have locked horns and the issue is still going on.
MP from West Bengal Mahua Moitra joined the row and said that in her view, Goddess Kaali is a meat-eating deity and in many parts of West Bengal, the goddess is offered alcohol. She even urged others to not teach Bengalis how to pray Kaali.
Adding fuel to the row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indirectly targeted TMC and said that India always has the blessings of Goddess Kaali. His comments made everyone think that the Prime Minister is indirectly referring to the ongoing issue.
âSwami Vivekananda had such stature but he used to become like a child in his devotion for Goddess Kaali. Such unwavering faith was also there in Swami Atmasthananda," the Prime Minister said, addressing the centenary celebrations of Swami Atmasthananda earlier today.
India has a lot of issues and problems that need to be addressed at the earliest, like the unemployment rate and the constant rise in prices.
But the leaders are interested in only religion and religious issues. The MP making such comments is wrong and a person who has the stature of Prime Minister talking about religion is not something we expect.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is known for its pro-Hindu ideology. But a Prime Minister showing interest in religion and religious issues is what we expect from him.
