Daily thousands of people are becoming victims for the deadly virus. Along with them, the policemen and doctors are also at higher risk to get infected.
As of now, Assistant Sub-inspector in Delhi, Eight officers and 29 constables in Maharashtra, One head constable in Hyderabad, and the very recent Pune constable and wife were tested positive.
Now, Anil Kohli, the 52-year-old Ludhiana assistant commissioner of police has died of the virus on Saturday. Anil Kohli was undergoing treatment for the COVID-19 in a private hospital, SPS hospital, Ludhiana.
Along with ACP, his wife, security guard and a station house officer had also tested positive for coronavirus.
Punjab Police DGP Dinkar Gupta wrote on twitter, "Our brother officer Anil Kohli, ACP Ludhiana, lost his battle against #COVID-19 today afternoon. Anil served Punjab Police and the people of Punjab for over 30 years. May his soul RIP!"
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also condoled the death."Sad to share that we had lost Gurmail Singh Kanungo yesterday & ACP Anil Kohli in Ludhiana to #Covid19 today. In this moment of crisis, losing our Corona Warriors is a big loss for the State. I join their families in this time of grief. Rest assured Punjab will stand by them," Singh said on Twitter.
