Micromax To Make Comeback In Indian Smartphone Market

"Micromax Informatics", once India's largest smartphone maker by market share is all set to make its comeback in India. Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma announced the re-entry in the smartphone space as it wants to target the Indian market with its in range of smartphones.

After the violet face-off between India and China, the Indian government has banned as many as 177 Chinese apps and it is also looking forward to confining the Chinese mobile market in India.

As per the reports, Chinese mobile companies like Oppo, Vivo, One Plus, Xiaomi, and Lenovo are attracting the major of the Indian consumers and these companies hold nearly 75% share in total Indian mobile market every year.

In this context, the centre is going through the IT acts and India-China trade deals to ban Chinese mobiles in India. However, it is not an easy process to execute. Once the government succeed in banning the Chinese phones, the demand for Indian companies like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and Nokia will gradually raise.

Now, the Micromax is taking a chance at the top slot again, riding recent government initiatives to boost production and counter cheaper mobiles from China. The company is also going to invest Rs 500 crore on expanding local manufacturing and research and development (R&D) operations as it prepares a comeback plan in smartphone market.
