Mulug MLA, Congress leader and former Maoist Seetakka continues to surprise the ruling TRS with her mercurial acts. The other day, a youth, known to be a diehard supporter of the Telangana cause, ended his life by immolating self. There were apprehensions that he was resorting to the extreme step as he was disappointed with the state government's decisions.
Realising that the Opposition could make this death into a political issue and derive media mileage out of it, the TRS government quickly deployed police in Bandlaguda and Rajiv Gruhapalpa area near Ghatkesar. TRS leaders also went to the bereaved family and tried to pressurise them to perform the last rites in the night itself. The bereaved family protested that they would perform the last rites the next day morning as it was raining heavily.
Even as this argument was on, Seetakka mysteriously materialised from nowhere and stood by the bereaved family. He said that there would be no funeral till all the relatives arrive. With Seetakka at the scene of the action, the police were on a backfoot. By then, the media too arrived. So, the hurried funeral was abandoned and the man was consigned to flames the next day. Even the police, administration and the ruling party leaders are surprised as to how Seetakka could arrive so fast to the place of action.
