Island nation Sri Lanka declared a state of emergency in the country to control communal violence flared up between Sinhalese and Muslims. Two people have been killed in the riots several homes have been damaged in the Kandy. Dozens of mosques were also damaged in the riots in the central district.
According to the media reports, the tension was growing between the two groups for the past one year and it took the shape of riots on Tuesday. Buddhist monks and Sinhala groups have been accusing the Muslims of forceful conversions and belittling the majority community.
