Taking the complaints of Panchayati raj & Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy into consideration, the Privileges Committee of the AP Legislative Assembly served notices to State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimagadda Ramesh Kumar.

Giving by the panel's instructions, the State Legislature Secretary survived notices to Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and asked him to appear for an inquiry before the Privileges Committee.

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar gave his response to the notice he received. He has sent an e-mail to the state assembly that he need not reply to the notice citing that he won't fall under House privileges orbit, media reports claimed.

According to the media reports, the SEC maintained that he has taken the first dose of vaccine against Coronavirus and as per the doctors' advice he is not supposed to travel.

SEC's response received a mixed response. While a section of people is defending Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar's response, a section of people is finding fault with the way he responded to notice.

The recently concluded civic body polls will be the last elections for Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner(SEC). He will retire from the SEC post on the 31st of this month.
