Over 5 kg Gold seized from 3 Women at Shamshabad Airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) customs sleuths nabbed three women carrying 5.154 kg gold worth Rs 1.5 crore. All the three who reached Shamshabad from Singapore wore thick gold strips around their waists and covered it with their clothes. They went to Singapore three days ago on a tourist visa and returned Hyderabad on Tiger Airways flight in the early hours on Wednesday. The three women were sent to judicial custody after producing in the court.

RGIA Officials confirms, This is second biggest gold smuggling bust in the past few days. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two smugglers coming from Dubai and seized 7.7 kg gold worth Rs 2.17 crore.

Although the smugglers have been repeatedly caught at the Shamshabad Airport, Gold Smuggling is only increasing with each passing day.
