Pandemic Dairies: Total Infections In India Surpass 19 lakh-mark

India straightaway reported more than 50,000 fresh infections for the seventh consecutive day with 52,779 new cases and the total infections of the deadly virus mounted to 19,08,254.

With  51,706 fresh recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, the recoveries of the ongoing pandemic in the country rose to 12,82,215 with a recovery rate of 66.31 percent.

For the first time, the count of recovered cases doubled that the active cases in the country. While the recoveries are 12,82,215, the active cases in India stood at 5,86,244.

The count of fatalities in connection with the respiratory disease in India is inching towards the 40,000-mark with 39,795 fatalities including 857 fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

The data released by the ICMR stated that as many as 6,19,652 samples were tested for the ongoing pandemic on Tuesday alone, while a total of 2,14,84,402 samples were tested as of August 4th.

Andhra Pradesh reported 9,747 fresh cases on Tuesday and the total cases in the state rose to 1,76,333. With 67 fresh casualties, so far 1,604 people succumbed to the dreaded virus.

Telangana added 2,012 fresh cases on Tuesday which takes the toll of the total cases to  70,958. As of now, 576 people breathed their lives battling respiratory disease in the state.

Globally, as many as  254,122 fresh infections were reported in a single day and the total cases of the respiratory disease mounted to 18,691,510, while 703,360 patients succumbed to the virus.
