Post-Covid, employees giving more importance to personal life: Survey

Post-Covid, the employees are found to be giving more importance to their families and to their personal lives rather than professional advancement. According to a survey conducted by a reputed management solutions company, 88 per cent of the employees were giving more importance to their mental health.

According to management solution provider UKG, the trend of giving more importance to family and personal health is more prominent in India. At least 26 per cent of the employees surveyed have said that they would prefer lower pay if it meant more mental peace for them. An estimated 25 per cent have said that they were suffering from mental pressure due to the stress in their jobs.

The survey said that 31 per cent of the employees felt that they were unable to devote time to their friends and family members due to the pressures of the profession. As estimated 34 per cent felt that long working hours were taking their toll on them. Some 31 percent felt that they were unable to focus on their work post Covid.

The survey suggested that the management must open conversations with their employees to address the issues raised by them. It said that at least 51 per cent of the employees were raising job stress related issues every week with their managements. The survey suggested that the employers and the managements must focus on the mental health of the employees.
