As a big development in the schools reopen issue, the Telangana government had issued directives saying that the schools across the state will be reopened barring the Gurukul settings.
The state government in its revised Government order had said that except for the Gurukuls, the physical classes will be started in the schools.
The government also said that both physical classes and online classes will be started from tomorrow going by the orders issued by the High Court.
"The guidelines regarding the classes will be issued within a week. The Gurukuls, Welfare hostels and the Tribal hospitals will also not be opened until further notice by the High Court" the Government said in its revised Government Order.
The government also made it clear that the students will not be forced to attend the physical classes and directed the schools to not force them for the same.
Earlier today, the Telangana High Court had stayed the Government Order issued by the Telangana government to reopen the schools that have been shut since the pandemic outbreak.
The High Court issued these orders while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that was filed challenging the GO issued by the government.
Directing that the Gurukuls and Welfare hostels should not be opened for one week, the High Court posted questions to the Telangana government.
Stressing on the vaccine doses for the children, the High Court asked if there is a vaccine for the children and raised a question of Covid transmission to parents and others through students.
The High Court had adjourned the next hearing to the 4th of October, and directed the government to file a counter affidavit in the issue along with the details on the measures the government took on the safety of the students.
The High Court had also asked the Telangana government to issue the guidelines on the school reopening and the nature of classes in less than one week.
The Telangana government took the decision of reopening of the educational institutions at a high level meeting. The decision of schools to reopen was announced after the commencement of the meeting.
