Congress Veteran Believes Recent Election Results Show Congress Has No Organisational Presence

Update: 2020-11-18 13:10 GMT
The recently held Bihar Assembly polls and by-elections left the Congress party in a state of embarrassment as the party failed to win the elections. Adding more embarrassment, one after the other senior leaders are taking potshots at the party.

Days after Member of Parliament, Kapil Sibal made embarrassing sweeping statements on the Congress, one more Congress MP criticized the party referring to the election loss.

Rajya Sabha member and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram took a shocking jibe at the party and said the election results show that the party doesn't have any organisational presence.

In his recent interview to a leading daily, the Rajya Sabha member opined that Congress contesting in more seats might be a reason for defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls.

Referring to parties like CPI-ML and AIMIM, he said that these parties showed that being strong at the grassroots level can make a difference in the polls and added that Congress lags behind there.

Senior party leaders openly criticizing the party's performance in the elections will surely bring down the morale of the party activists and workers. In the Bihar elections, Congress fared well compared to other polls.

Congress coalition managed to win nearly the magical figure, but fell short of the magical figure.

When the party shifted its focus on upcoming polls in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Bengal, and Assam, senior parties criticizing the party won't send the right intention to the party cadre.
