Rebel leaders hold a big significance in politics. They can cause big damage to the party. Be it before or after politics, they can be dangerous. After the 2019 polls, the grand old Telugu Desam Party tasted this as many leaders took the ruling YSRCP side and started targeting the party.
Having realized this, the grand old party is not ready to leave any stone unturned to use all the possible options to win the next polls. Credible leaders are being picked for the polls so that they can focus on wooing the voters in their respective constituencies.
Party chief Chandrababu Naidu is holding meetings in the state at regular intervals and Telugu Desam Party National Secretary Nara Lokesh is busy with his Yuva Galam padayatra which was planned to cover 4000 kilometers across the state. The party pinned high hopes on the padayatra.
On the other hand, the Telugu Desam Party is said to be in plans to own the rebel leaders of the ruling YRCP. It is said that the leadership is in touch with the leaders and they were assured the tickets. If everything goes well then they might get party tickets from TDP for the next polls.
Narsapur MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju started the trend of rebel leaders in the MP. His issue became a big headache for the party and it reached a point where he was arrested and sent to jail. On sedition charges, he was arrested and he moved the Supreme Court to get bail.
Former Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has been making controversial comments against the party of late. At a meeting, he asked how the party can win the elections as it has done nothing great for the people. He even questioned what great the YSRCP has done compared to the previous Telugu Desam Party. He lost the party-in-charge post and the MP was announced as the replacement of Anam in the Assembly polls.
Another key leader from Nellore Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy also locked horns with the YSRCP and the leadership alleged that he took the TDP route. So YCP parted ways with him. Keeping all this in mind, the TDP is said to be in plans to own the YCP Rebel leaders.
