The 25-Year-Old Delhi Youth placed the Carbon Monoxide cylinder inside a polythene bag to committing suicide. An airtight chamber was created by him in the bathroom using a large polythene cover. He discovered this method after browsing the internet for painless deaths.
Forensic Experts at AIIMS say, Accidental deaths due to inhalation of CO is quite common. But, This is the first time a deliberate attempt to kill self using CO was made.
Carbon Monoxide is colorless and odourless. This non-irritant gas is 200 times stronger than Oxygen and replaces oxygen in the blood to cause death. Immediate death happens if Carbon Monoxide with high concentration is inhaled.
