The Stage is Set: BJP Inching Closer Towards forming Government?

Update: 2022-06-30 10:28 GMT
Our neighboring state Maharashtra has been in the middle of the headlines for all the wrong reasons for the past few weeks due to the ongoing political crisis. The situation reached the burning point that the Chief Minister stepped down from his post ahead of the floor test, which was supposed to happen today but was postponed.

Now Bharatiya Janata Party is in the spotlight as it has a high chance of coming to power in the state yet again. Senio leader Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis, popularly known as Devendra Fadnavisis on the verge of taking up the Chief Minister.

Now the talk is that Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde are likely to call for a meeting and discuss various things related to forming the government. Once they come to an understanding, the duo might meet the state Governor and submit a letter claiming the joint support they have to form the government.

Rebel leader Eknath Shinde who is saying he has the support of over 40 MLAs just landed in Mumbai from Goa and is likely to meet Fadnavis. After coming to an opinion on how to share the portfolios and who will take up the Chief Minister post, the government is likely to be formed.

Combined, Bharatiya Janata Party and rebel leaders have close to over 140 MLAs' support which is sufficient to form the government. Earlier, Shiv Sena and BJP parted ways over the Chief Minister post. Now BJP is making sure that the previous mistake will not repeat.

It has to be mentioned here that the same situation took place in Maharashtra in 2019. Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, making him the second-youngest person to hold the Chief Minister post. Days after taking the oath, he had to step down as the party lacked the strength to form the government.

If Shiv Sena would have supported BJP, then the government would have not collapsed. Keeping this in mind, the saffron party reportedly waited for the right time and when the rebel MLAs turned agonist Shiv Sena, the party came into the scene and did the rest. BJP used rebel MLAs to pay back Shiv Sena.
