To contain Covid spread, Maharashtra Govt extends lockdown restrictions till 1st of June!
The Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has decided to extend the restrictions till the 1st of June. The existing restrictions were extended till 7 AM on June 1st.
The state government decided to extend the restrictions after the Cabinet meeting that was chaired on Wednesday. The existing lockdown restrictions were scheduled to come to an end on the 15th of May.
In the orders, the state government said, it is mandatory to produce a negative RTPCR test report to travel to Maharashtra. The test report should be issued from up to nearly 48 hours before him/ her entering the state.
Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte said that the restrictions will stay in force till 7 am on June 1. Additional restrictions were issued to break the chain of transmission, he said.
The local District Management Authority (DMA) received key directives from the state government to make sure that all the Covid protocols will be followed at all the rural markets and other places.
The government has allowed people working in airports, Port services, who play a big role in the shipping of medical equipment and medicines to travel in local, mono, and metro services.
Coming to the cargo carriers, only the Driver and Cleaner will be allowed to travel at the same time. In the case of Cargos coming from outside the state, the two people in the vehicle should produce a negative RTPCR test.
