The ruling TRS has through its plenary announced its arrival on the national politics. The key resolution of the party said that the TRS should play a key role in the national politics in view of the greater good of the country. It also said that it would fight the âcommunialismâ of the Central government.
The one-day plenary attended by selected 3500 delegates, has also made it clear that KCR would soon play a key role at the national level. One of the resolutions raised the issue of price rise. It said that the Central Government should take steps to bring down the prices of the essential commodities. It also raised the issue of paddy procurement price.
The TRS has also made it clear that it is going to take on the BJP on the Hindutva issue. It said that the BJP was promoting communalism in the country. The resolution said that there was a need to protect the communal harmony and social amity. It said that the BJP was attacking the culture of unity in the country. Threats to federalism and 'unjust' GST divisions also figured in the resolutions.
The party plenary's other resolutions too talked about implementing 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Assembly. It also wanted a special BC welfare ministry to be created at the Centre. It is clear that the TRS is targeting women and the BCs for the next elections, which would be held in 2023.
