Veteran actress Sukumari (74) breathed her last due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday at a private hospital in Chennai. She suffered burns last month while lighting a lamp at an event in Chennai. She suffered a heart stroke while undergoing treatment Today evening.
Sukumari has acted in over 2500 films in all Southern languages and Hindi. She was known to the Telugus as 'Sabari' in Mahesh Babu's flick Murari. The roles she played in Nagarjuna's Nirnayam and Varun Sandesh's Kudiritey Kappu Coffee (2011) earned her good name. Government of India has honoured this legendary actress with Padma Sri in the year 2003.
