Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya who is facing allegations of cheating several banks once again made it to the headlines as the liquor king came up with a package for the banks in his case.

If the banks agree to accept the package then he can get a sigh of relief from the Enforcement Directorate as the law enforcement agency is not leaving any stone unturned to bring him back to India.

If the information provided by some media reports is to be believed, advocate who represents the liquor king told the apex court that Mallya is ready to offer a settlement package for the banks.

Though the amount of settlement package is not mentioned in the petition, in the petition that was filed by his counsel last month said he is ready to pay a total of Rs 13,960 crore towards the settlement.

Following this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta maintained that let Vijay Mallya deposit the money prior to landing on India, and then we can take a call on the settlement package.

This is not the first time, Vijay Mallaya offered such packages to escape from the extradition. Earlier, the consortium of banks refused to accept the settlement offered by him.
