Vijay Mallya responded on the suicide of Cafe Coffee Day owner VG Siddhartha after his body was recovered from the Netravati river in the early hours of Wednesday. The Fugitive Businessman claimed he is indirectly related to VG Siddhartha who according to him is an excellent human and brilliant entrepreneur. 'I am devastated with the contents of his letter. The Govt Agencies and Banks can drive anyone to despair. See what they are doing to me despite offer of full repayment. Vicious and unrelenting,' he opined.

In the suicide letter of VG Siddhartha who is the Son-in-Law of former Karnataka CM SM Krishna, The Founder of India's largest coffee chain admitted giving up the fight as he can't handle the pressure anymore from Private Equity Partners who forced him to buy back shares. He also accused harassment from former DG Income Tax by attaching the Coffee Chain shares, which eventually didn't allow the Mindtree deal and created cash crunch.

On the other hand, Vijay Mallya challenged the confiscation of properties belonging to companies owned by him and his family members in the Supreme Court. Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will hear the petition on August 2nd.
