The Vijayawada Task Force Police successfully busted a hawala gang that operates in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad. The cops arrested some of the gang members and an investigation is underway.
Going into details, the cops who received a tip-off about the hawala gang that is transporting money from Narsapuram town of West Godavari to Hyderabad caught the gang with money.
Praveen Kumar Jian, who owns a jewelry shop tried to transport the money with the help of one of his employees and his brother.
The owner gave the duo an amount of Rs 50 lakh rupees and $34,000 of hawala money. Along with this, he collected money from four people and directed the duo to handover the money to his brother Keerthi Jain who resides in Hyderabad.
To escape from the police checking, the hawala gang made changes to the car seats and stored the money in the rear seats.
The cops seized $34,000 and Rs 1.47 crore money that is being transported without proper bills along with the vehicles of the hawala gang.
Three people along with the main accused Praveen Kumar was arrested by the police in connection with the hawala money. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
