Update: 2018-04-07 08:31 GMT
It is known that H-1B is the most sought-after US visa and many skilled workers will file applications for obtaining the visa.   H-1B visa allows US companies to employ foreign skilled workers.   The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has revealed that it has reached the mandated 65,000 H-1B visa cap for the fiscal year 2019.

The fiscal year begins from October 1, 2018 and USCIS revealed that they will conduct a lottery to decide successful applicants.  USCIS didn't mention how many H-1B petitions they have received from April 2.   The USCIS spokesperson Arwen FitzGerald said, "We will not have the exact petition receipt numbers for a few weeks."

USCIS also said that it would continue to accept and process petitions which are otherwise exempted from the cap petitions filed for current H-1B workers.   USCIS said that they have also received enough H-1B petitions for master's cap.. which is 20,000 visa cap for advanced degree exemption.
