Senior TDP leader from Visakhapatnam and former minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu is in the news for the wrong reasons. His comments against the YSRCP and especially YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are becoming increasingly abusive. This will boomerang on the party and several party leaders too feel that Ayyanna's comments were proving counter-productive.
Ayyanna has been using expressions such as "Pichi Reddy" (mad reddy) and Tughluq Reddy for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This is alienating the Reddys in the TDP. Also, many people are questioning this kind of abusive language. More than damaging the YSRCP, it is actually damaging the TDP itself. But, the party workers and leaders don't seem to have the guts to tell Ayyanna Patrudu, who is close to 70 years of age. Many feel that this kind of abusive language does not bode well for Ayyanna, who is a many time MLA and Minister.
The fallout of Ayyanna's abusive statements and comments is that the YSRCP leaders too are resorting to the same slanging match. They too are getting increasingly abusive and are criticising the TDP and Ayyanna. Importantly, those criticising Ayyanna are much junior level politicians. This is bringing the standards of public probity further down.
Party leaders feel that it is one thing to highlight YS Jagan governments follies and failures. But it is another thing to use abrasive language. They are of the opinion that TDP chief Chandrababu should step in and should rein in Ayyanna Patrudu.
