Will ED Take CBI's Route In Kavitha's Row?

Update: 2023-03-08 14:59 GMT
In a shocking turn of events, the Enforcement Directorate(ED) summoned BRS MLC Kavitha in the Delhi Excise scam. She was asked to be present before the officers on the 9th of this month. The development raised many eyeballs as she is the daughter of Chief Minister KCR who is locking horns with the BJP.

Shortly after arresting Hyderabad Businessman Ramachandra Pillai and calling him the Benami of MLC Kavitha, the ED served notices to her and asked her to be present at the office in the National capital Delhi on the 9th of this month.

Amid this, Kavitha is said to have written to ED saying that she is occupied with the Dharna demanding Women Reservation Bill. Giving Dharna as the reason, Kavitha reportedly said that she is not available on the mentioned dates and sought postponement of the questioning.

Now all eyes are on the ED officials to see what they would do. Earlier, Kavitha did the same when the CBI served her notices. She said that she is not free on the dates and the questioning happened at her residence in Hyderabad in connection with the case.

Will ED take the CBI's route in Kavitha's case or ask Kavitha to face questioning on the mentioned date is the question here. We would get clarity on this once the ED responds to Kavitha's letter and give her a response.

Kavitha has been alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party is after her to target his father KCR who is venturing into national politics against the Union government. Repeating the same stand, Kavitha said that Telangana will not bow down before anyone.

"I would also like the ruling party at the Centre to know that these tactics of intimidation against the fight and voice of our leader CM Shri KCR, and against the entire BRS party will not deter us. Under the leadership of KCR garu, we will continue to fight to expose your failures and raise voice for a brighter and better future for India," Kavitha said in her response.

The central agencies are probing the matter and arresting the accused. As of now, the ED had arrested 11 people in connection with the scam. Now all eyes are on Kavitha to see what the agencies would do with her.
