According to the company sources, Wipro founder-chairman Azim Premji has invested in the US-based biotech company, Moderna that has emerged a front-runner to make a vaccine to curb the novel coronavirus.
It is said that the investment was in the range of 25-30 million dollars and was done a few years ago.
"With today's positive interim Phase 1 data and the positive data in the mouse challenge model, the Moderna team continue to focus on moving as fast as safely possible to start our pivotal Phase 3 study in July and, if successful, file a BLA.," Stephane Bancel, Chief Executive Officer at Moderna said in a statement.
