World Cup Horror: Run-Outs Continue To Break Fans' Hearts!

Update: 2023-02-24 12:10 GMT
It's been a long dream of Indian Cricket fans to see the team win any International Cricket Council(ICC) trophy. In every tournament, we get knocked out in crucial matches. The same has been happening for years. 2013 was the last time India won an ICC trophy.

Be it the 2019 World Cup, or 2022 World Cup, we are being knocked out of the tournament. Compared to other tournaments, the 2019 50-over World Cup is very heartbreaking. When the top order failed, former skipper of the Indian team Mahendra Singh Dhoni did a lone fight. He was run out and India could not chase the target.

A similar thing happened the other day in the Women's World Cup. India and Australia locked horns in the semis. Australia won the match by five runs and the Indian team was knocked out of the tournament. When things were going in India's way, the skipper was run out.

When the Indian team was in the middle of trouble, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played key innings and scored 52 runs in just 34 balls. But things went upside down when she ran out. While taking the second run she was run out and India never looked comfortable since then.

If Harmanpreet Kaur would have not been run out then India would have won the match and Harmanpreet Kaur would have taken her team to a super win as Mahendra Singh dhoni did in the 2011 World Cup Final. But things went the other way and India lost the match.

Indian fans are drawing a comparison between Mahendra Singh Dhoni's run out in the 2019 World Cup and Harmanpreet Kaur's run out in the semi-finals of the Women's T20 World Cup. They say that run outs in semis continue to break the hearts of the fans.

Talking about the semi-finals, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. The Aussies posted a good total of 172 runs in their quota of 20 overs. While chasing India never looked good. Smriti Mandhana was sent back for a mere score of two runs. India scored 28 runs for the loss of three wickets. Harmanpreet''s innings put India in the fight. Unfortunately, India was restricted to 167 for the loss of eight wickets.
