YSRCP leader and Dharmavaram MLA Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy had made crucial comments against the Volunteers while speaking at an event held in Dharmavaram on Wednesday.
"We were informed that a few volunteers are indulging in corruption. 267 volunteers were removed from their jobs after they were found involved in such activities. We will not encourage such activities," the MLA said.
Seeing that the public representatives are not able to come for inspection due to Corona impact, a few Volunteers are demanding bribes from the public. Charge memos were given to volunteers for practicing corruption in the village secretariat, he added.
The practice of demanding bribes from the public to include their names as the beneficiaries will not be encouraged. The schemes would reach the beneficiaries. There is no need to pay money to the volunteers, he maintained.
The MLA went on to say that volunteers who are not interested in taking up the job can resign and urged the public to inform them if any volunteer demands money from them.
