Youth Congress Or Criminal Congress?

Update: 2020-09-16 03:14 GMT
The Congress Party in Telangana wants to hold elections for the Youth Congress, the youth wing of the party. Holding organizational elections to the youth fronts of the party is because of Rahul Gandhi's insistence. Rahul Gandhi is trying hard to bring in fresh blood into the organization and is planning to hold elections.

But, despite Rahul Gandhi's best intentions, these elections are perhaps turning into a competition of who has more police cases registered against him. Instead of their work and contribution to the party, the number of criminal cases registered against the candidates is coming to the fore.

Take the case of Shivasena Reddy of Nagarkurnool. He has serious criminal cases pending against him. His rivals circulated the details of the cases pending against him. But even those being touted as alternatives to Shivasena Reddy, have cases against them. For instance, Sai Nayak and Rajiv Reddy, who are trying to get the Youth Congress President post, too have cases registered against them. In fact, DK Aruna had stopped Rajiv Reddy from becoming Youth Congress President in the past only because of these cases. Now that she is gone, Reddy is making an attempt again.

However, several seniors are aghast at the number of cases pending against each candidate. They are worried that the Youth Congress will lose its credibility if such people are given posts of power.
