The progressive government of Andhra Pradesh is said to introduce the AI technology related studies in the basic curriculum in schools and higher studies institutions across the state. This is in tune with the growing patterns about the spread of AI usage across the globe.

Andhra Pradesh has taken a major step in technology education by signing an agreement with NVIDIA to set up India’s first Artificial Intelligence University.

According to Business Standard, the partnership will train around 10,000 engineering students in AI over the next two years and support nearly 500 startups through NVIDIA’s Inception program. The university will focus on AI research, innovation, and developing skilled professionals who can meet the growing demand in the technology sector.

Alongside this, the state government has started introducing AI lessons in schools. From the 2024 to 2025 academic year, the AI curriculum has been added to around 100 government secondary schools, including 38 in the Srikakulam and Vizianagaram regions.

Classes from seventh to tenth will now have AI learning modules designed to build problem solving and coding skills. Teachers are being trained under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan program in partnership with Quest Alliance and Leadership for Equity to ensure smooth implementation.

With both an AI University for higher education and an AI curriculum in schools, Andhra Pradesh is aiming to build a complete AI learning ecosystem that nurtures talent from a young age and prepares the state to lead in artificial intelligence innovation across India.
