Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) which was started as TRS has one of the most glorious careers. It started a few decades with a humble start and went on to form the government for two consecutive terms. The party won the 2014 polls, the first election after the state was formed and the 2018 polls as well.
But it could not win the third term as it lost to the Congress. Winning and losing are part of elections. However, a trend has been followed as the BRS once again lost the six constituencies which it has failed to win.
Goshamahal: The constituency which is in the heartland of the old city has been shocking the BRS.Even in pre delimitation and after the constituency formation BRS failed to win the seat. When the seat was MaharajGanj, BJP candidate Prem Singh Rathore won the seat from 1999 - 2004. From 2004- 2014 Congress leader Mukesh Goud dominated the elections. The landscape changed with the emergence of Raja Singh who has been winning since 2014. Once again BRS lost the seat.
Sathupally: The Assembly seat has been shocking the BRS as no candidate from the party managed to win the seat. In 2014 and 18 TDP won the seat while the Congress won the seat this time. BRS could not win the seat even in its wave in 2014 and 18 polls. With this, we can imagine how strong the constituency has been.
Aswaraopeta: The Assembly seat which falls under the Khammam district is among the seats in which BRS could not win. Congress, TDP, and YCP dominated the seat. Even after the state formation, BRS could not win and YCP which was not that strong also emerged victorious in 2014. This time Congress won the seat.
Madhira: The Assembly Constituency is a scheduled caste reserved seat. No matter how many schemes the party brought, the voters in the seat did not prefer the party. When the Telangana sentiment was at its peak, BRS largely extended its wings but Madhira was not among them.
Yellandu: The Assembly seat is among the tough constituencies which have been showing stars to the BRS. No matter who contests from the party the candidates have to lose the elections which has been proving for the past three decades since its inception. Congress leader Koram Kinakaiah saw the win this time.
Pinapaka: The seat which falls under the Bhadradri Kothagudem district has been supporting other parties except for the BRS. With every election passing the losing percentage of the candidates has been passing. In the last term BRS candidate lost by 19,565 votes which went up to 90510 votes this time.
