CBN’s Arrest, Etela’s Suspension: Jagan, KCR Lost With This?
It is common for observers and people to give their thoughts on the defeats after the election loss.
The ruling parties in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana faced big shocks with the results of elections in 2024 and 2023 respectively. KCR in Telangana and Jagan in Andhra lost elections with the opposition parties in the respective states bouncing back and reaching power.
It is common for observers and people to give their thoughts on the defeats after the election loss. The same is happening now. Observers say that the way Jagan and KCR dealt with Chandrababu and Eetala respectively might be the big reason behind the defeat.
Let us start with KCR. He is a two-time Chief Minister and lost the elections. Out of the decisions he made, the way he dealt with former Minister Etela is said to have played a role in this. Etela is a strong leader who took part in the Movement and was with TRS for a very long time.
Etela raised his voice for the Telangana state even in the combined state in the Assembly. Due to various reasons, Etela was suspended suddenly and his Ministry was stripped off. He then joined the BJP and became the MP. Observers say that the Etela issue had sent a wrong message to the people with Telangana supporters developing a negative image. Etela issue is believed to have played a key role in KCR, a two-time CM becoming an opposition leader.
If we shift the focus to Andhra Pradesh there is a popular opinion that arresting Chandrababu Naidu changed the situation and TDP’s graph increased massively. Chandrababu Naidu is among the senior politicians in the country and served as the Chief Minister in both states.
The common people had sympathy towards TDP and Chandrababu Naidu with his arrest in connection with the alleged Skill Development Scam. He spent around two months in jail with this. His arrest also created the stage for the alliance. After meeting Chandrababu in jail, Pawan Kalyan announced an alliance with TDP and he also brought BJP together.
If not for this there is no assurance of the alliance formation.Citing the two incidents the observers say that they lost the elections with the decisions they took turning against them and changing the dynamics.
