No Jamili Elections Likely In The Country?

In a few months, we will see Lok Sabha elections which have the potential to change the political landscape of India. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition parties took the upcoming polls prestigiously. BJP won two consecutive elections and is eyeing a hat trick. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought another chance from the people to serve them better.

On the other hand, we have been hearing a lot about possible Jamili elections. It is said that the BJP is in favour of the Jamili elections. Amid the buzz, a few parties like Janasena also extended support for the idea. On top of this, the special sessions of Parliament started recently

As the Women’s Reservation Bill is tabled in the house and the whole country is talking about this, many felt that the Jamili elections might be held and a bill on the same might be tabled in the house

But the bill was not tabled in the house yet and this started a debate on whether Jamili elections will not be held. Jamili elections talk about holding Lok Sabha elections and Assembly together.

Recently, a think tank revealed sensational information on the data and said that it takes as much as 10 lakh crores. However, the cost can be reduced if the One Nation One election can be finished in a few days. Given the population size of the country, it is next to impossible.

Looking at the procedures, the BJP government has to make some amendments and make the state Assembly houses approve this. This is a lengthy process and might face difficulties in dealing with them. All these factors might have resulted in the government not focusing on the elections.
