KCR’s Odisha dreams come crashing, ex-CM resigns from BRS
Are KCR's dream of extending beyond the borders of Telangana falling apart?
Are KCR's dream of extending beyond the borders of Telangana falling apart? It appears so. The enthusiasm of those who joined the BRS from other states is waning as fast as it waxed. As part of his attempts to become relevant at the national level' KCR tried to woo several leaders in Odisha' Andhra Pradesh and even in Maharashtra.
The Andhra unit' which was launched amid much fanfare' has now become completely inactive. The rumours that former top cop JD Lakshminarayana would join the BRS and play a key role in AP politics' too have come cropper. The unit in Andhra Pradesh is almost inactive these days.
The latest news is that former Odisha Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang' his wife Hema Gamang and son Shishir Gamang' who joined the BRS in January this year' have decided to resign from the party. They are all set to rejoin the Congress Party. With this' the BRS hopes of building the organisation in Odisha have come to a naught.
Giridhar Gamang' who originally belonged to the Congress' has joined the BJP. However' he left the BJP in January and met KCR at Pragathi Bhavan. Later' he joined the BRS. But now' he has decided to return to the Congress fold. He has reportedly met Congress incharge for Odisha Challa Kumar and expressed his desire to come back into the party.
