Minister Talks About Intention Of Bringing Electoral Bonds!
BJP received the highest amount through the bonds which is making the saffron party get a wide range of criticism.
At a time when the Lok Sabha elections are approaching the Electoral Bonds issue came as a big surprise. The Supreme Court’s orders came a huge blow to the Centre as the SBI was directed to make the details public including the numbers on the electoral bonds.
The opposition parties and critics are targeting the BJP alleging that the electoral bonds were brought to get funding from the companies and firms. BJP received the highest amount through the bonds which is making the saffron party get a wide range of criticism.
Amid this, veteran BJP leader Nitin Gadkari who is serving as the Minister of Road Transport reacted to the bonds and spoke about the idea behind introducing the electoral bonds scheme.
The Union Minister said that the bonds were introduced with good intentions as no party can survive without the funds. He said that the idea was discussed back when Arun Jaitley was the Finance Minister and he was also a part of the discussion.
The Minister gave an example of things in other nations of the world and said that in some countries the parties get funds from the government. As this is not the system in the country the electoral funds were launched so that the parties can get funds to run as parties cannot run without the funds.
On the occasion, Nitin Gadkari also spoke about not revealing the names of the donors. He said that thinking the doors might face issues if the government changes the names were not revealed.
A section of netizens say that what Nitin Gadkari said is partially right as the parties have to take care of a lot of expenses. When meetings were held food and other expenses had to be taken care of.
