Big Shock: Supreme Court Serves Notice To Revanth Reddy!

In what could be a shocker, serving Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suffered a big blow. Hearing a petition that deals with a case that traces back to a few years, the court served notices to Revanth Reddy. The Country’s top court, the Supreme Court served notice to Revanth Reddy and others.

Hearing a petition on the Cash-for-vote scam, the Supreme Court served notices to Revanth Reddy and others. The next hearing was adjourned after four weeks and Revanth Reddy was directed to give his response.

The issue went to the notice of the Supreme Court after a petition was filed seeking directives to transfer the trial in the case from Telangana to Madhya Pradesh. Former Minister Jagadish Reddy filed the petition and the Supreme Court served the notices. The bench of Justices comprising BR Gavai and Sandeep Mehta dealt with the petition.

The sensational cash-for-vote case traces back to 2015. Revanth Reddy, who is the Chief Minister now was a Telugu Desam Party leader back then. The case alleges that Rs 50 lakhs were paid to Elvis Stephenson to seek his support to vote for the TDP candidate.

Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The case created a sensation back then as the BRS which was in power claimed that the TDP tried to influence the elections by giving bribes.

The case has been going on since then. Revanth Reddy’s opponents use the case to target him. Now the case saw a significant development as the Supreme Court served notice to Revanth Reddy on his response. The next hearing was adjourned to four weeks.
