TDP, YSRCP blame game over fake voter enrollment
It says that the village volunteers were removing the names of those opposed to the YSRCP.
Fake voters - this is the biggest issue dogging the politics in Andhra Pradesh these days. Both the ruling and the opposition parties are accusing each other of deleting the names of several eligible voters and enrolling fake voters via online. The situation has come to such a pass that the Central election commission has decided to send a team from Delhi to study the situation.
Interestingly, both the YSRCP and the TDP have sent delegations to the CEC with complaints about fake voter enrollment. The election commission, which found something suspicious after it detected several Form 7 applications asking for removal of names, feels that there is an attempt to affect the voter demography. Hence, it has decided to send a team of officials to study the situation in Andhra Pradesh.
The TDP accused the YSRCP of misusing the village volunteer system that the latter has put in place. It says that the village volunteers were removing the names of those opposed to the YSRCP. It said that the village volunteer system was working as YSRCP karyakarthas at the ground level.
the YSRCP accused the TDP of being the past master in the art of removal of votes. It says that the TDP did this during the 2014-19 period. It was only because of the YSRCP's alert cadre that this plot was foiled. It welcomed the central team's visit to AP and said that this will expose the TDP's devious game plan. With both parties accusing each other, the political scene has hotted up in Andhra Pradesh.
