Heavy rains have been troubling Telangana for the past few days. We are seeing record rainfall in the state. Due to heavy downpours there is severe water logging in the roads which in turn is increasing the traffic jams on the raods. The weather experts are warning the people to be cautious and step out only if it is required.
Amid the heavy downpours, red alert and orange alert were given in some areas due to the rain the regions witnessed and would witness for the next few days. While orange alert indicates that people should be very careful, red alert says the situation is very problematic.
While a few areas are drowned already with the ongoing rains, heavy rain is expected to hit many regions in the state including the capital city Hyderabad in the next 48 hours. So people should be very careful when they step out.
Witnessing heavy rainfalls is not new. But the current situation is very problematic with a few regions recording downpours in record numbers. It is said that Mulugu's Venkatapuram recorded 193.6 mm rainfall while Karkagudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded close to 200 mm with 187.5 mm.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued warning to people to be cautious with the heavy downpours. The heavy rains are expected to last till the weekend. So people should be cautious about the situation and take the required measures.
As an example of how problematic the situation with the heavy downpours is educational institutions were given holidays for a few days. The IT companies were also given advisories.
As a precautionary measure to bring down the traffic jams, the IT companies were given advisories to have log out times in a phased manner. Three times were proposed based on the areas.
The water level in water bodies increased massively and authorities advised people to avoid going there.
A few numbers were dedicated to raise any complaints if people are facing issues. The concerned authorities are taking all the required measures to see that people won't face any issues. At the same time they were also advised to follow the directives.
