Distributors want superstar to pay for loss

Rajinkanth's "Lingaa" creating unnecessary troubles for the super star.The Tamil movie, which was expected to shatter collection records, has caused huge losses to distributors.The film carries  a wonderful pre-talk and this made many distributors purchase rights for fancy prices.But it caused huge losses for them and they are now planning to seek compensation from none other than Rajinikanth himself.

On Saturday some of film distributors and theatre owners and leasers staged a one-day fast demanding the superstar to compensate them for the losses. Most distributors claimed to have suffered losses up to 70 percent on their investment.

One of the distributor filed petition in HC saying that Chennai police commissioner refused to take their complaint.A group of distributors clarified that they're doing the protests  to get the attention of the superstar.In 2002 also Rajini faced similar type of situation and the veteran actor compensated the distributors and theatre owners a portion of their loss.

Other side The South Indian Film Artistes' Association (SIFAA) aka Nadigar Sangam said it was "unfair" for the distributors of "Lingaa" to hold superstar Rajinikanth responsible for the film's losses. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, "Lingaa" released on Rajinikanth's birthday Dec 12, 2014. It also features Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.
