National Film Awards for year 2013 were announced. Out of nearly 30 Telugu films including AD,SVSC,Mirchi nominated for the prestigious awards category. However, leaving a big shock to the makers of above big movies, none of the movies has been conferred the national award and only one small Telugu film managed to bring home laurels for us.
Telugu offbeat drama Na Bangaru Thalli bagged three awards. It was announced as the best film in the language. Music director Shantanu Moitra who composed the background score of the film also won the National Award for Best Background score. Anjali Patil who played the female lead in the film won Special Jury award for her performance.
Naa Bangaru Talli is a film which revolves around Human Trafficking, based on a real life story. The award winners will be conferred to the award winners by President in New Delhi in the first week of May.
