Actor Vijay Deverakonda believes that the division between North and South cinema is disappearing. Speaking at TV9’s What India Thinks Today Summit 2025, he shared his thoughts on the changing landscape of Indian films. He stated, "Maybe it’s going to become Indian cinema after a few years."
In recent years, South Indian films like Pushpa, RRR, and Kantara have become nationwide hits, proving that language is no longer a barrier for audiences. Vijay, who has acted in both Telugu and Hindi films, believes that this is just the beginning of a larger transformation. He added, "It will change, but right now we are having a good time and we are very happy about that."
He also added, "Telugu cinema had to fight for a bigger audience. When Baahubali was made, no one knew it would become such a hit. If it had been a flop, it could have ended many careers and brought a lot of burden on the producer. Everyone promoted the film well, and that opened doors for many. So, we have to fight for our place. We need to fight for attention, and we need to fight for love."
