Update: 2021-12-23 10:14 GMT
The hackers are posing a big challenge to the country by snooping into the accounts of famous personalities in India. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official handle on microblogging site Twitter was compromised. On top of that, the leaders of the opposition parties are accusing the government of the hacking of their accounts and mobile phones.

As the controversy surrounding the issue is getting bigger with each passing day, the Union Government had reportedly decided to deal with the hackers with an iron fist and a special team would be handed over the responsibility of probing the issue and nabbing the culprits.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, the Union government is serious over the hacking row and has swung into action to teach the hackers a lesson by arresting them and bringing them before the court. Taking the allegations made by the opposition leaders into cognizance, the Centre took the decision to probe the matter.

As a response to the hacking incidents, a special team of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will look into the matter and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the issue.

The series of allegations made by the opposition leaders on alleged hacking of their phones and social media scouts made the Centre serious and for the same, the Union Government had stepped in to probe the matter.

It has to be noted that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made shocking allegations against the government and claimed that the Instagram accounts of their kids were hacked. Breathing fire on the Government on the matter, the Gandhi scion asked why the government is involved in this as if it has got nothing else to do.

Priyanka Gandhi also alleged that, besides snooping into the Instagram accounts of her children, the government is also tapping the mobile phone. As an example of phone tapping, Priyanka Gandhi cited the examples of Enforcement Directorate (ED) and (IT) raids against the opposition party leaders.

In another noteworthy development in the hacking row, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the government of tapping the mobile phones of the party leaders.
