Election Fever: BJP Aiming To Break 2002 Record?

Update: 2022-12-08 09:37 GMT
Gujarat has been a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party for a very long time. Since the late 90s, the saffron party has been winning the polls every time the state went for the general elections. The early trends say that BJP is inching towards another win even with a big margin.

The state has 182 seats and it is leading in more than 155 seats. The magic figure for the state is just 92. It is almost confirmed that the BJP will come to power with a two-thirds majority in the house. BJP supporters and party activists have already started celebrations at the BJP party activists across the state.

Now a discussion on how many seats the party can win in the polls has started. The numbers that are expected to be won by the party are high and BJP supporters are hoping to see this happen.

Political experts and observers are eagerly waiting to see if the Bharatiya Janata Party can win over 150 seats in the state or not. If the party can manage to reach the number then it would become a big record for the party.

BJP managed to pull off a big win back in 2002 as the party managed to win 127 seats. Now the party is aiming to cross the 150 figure and record a big win.

Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The party gave its best in the campaign. Even Narendra Modi also campaigned and addressed a massive gathering to seek public support.

A few factors are in favour of the BJP now. The party solely depended on Modi's image. He was all over the campaign and his image is bigger than the party's image and the image is expected to favour the party.

Though the Muslim community distanced itself from the party since the Godhra train burning incident, the rest of the communities are with the party. BJP dealt with the Covid situation better compared to others. The state has good growth and the unemployment rate is also very low. All these factors are expected to boost BJP's image.
